Waiya

Waiya, a lovely appaloosa/Quarter Horse mare, arrived in October, 2024.  Her owner was elderly and suffered from dementia and we were contacted by the estate asking if we could take her in.  Her original name was Royal Lady and she'd been rescued as a foal from a neglect situation.  She was born March 20, 2004.  Waiya is a very sweet and friendly mare.  As soon as she arrived we had her tested for Cushings/PPID as she exhibited some obvious symptoms (long curly coat, fatty deposits).  She tested positive and is now on daily medication for it.   Waiya is broke to ride but has not been ridden in a number of years.
