Thirty Ponies!

In March of 2021 we received a call from a horse dealer that he had 'some; ponies for us and was already enroute with them.  Imagine our surprise when he arrived with not one or two, or ever three, ponies, but with thirty!
They came streaming out of the trailer, and they were all beautiful.  As is all too often the case, though, they were unhandled, most were underweight, some had overgrown hooves, there were ungelded colts and a stallion, and several were also pregnant!
The ponies became known as the candy bunch as we named them all after candies.   Right off the bat we separated out the boys.  Cadbury, the little stallion, we halterbroke and gelded immediately and he was also the first to be adopted.  Moonpie and Rocket foaled a month after they came and they were adopted along with their foals a short while later.  About half of the ponies went to Tiny Tales Pony Rescue in Delta, BC and on to new homes from there.  We ended up keeping one of the ponies, Rowntree, and he currently lives at a nearby foster home.  We are so grateful that we were able to help all the ponies find good homes, but it was a lot of work!
