Foster Program
Foster Application

Some of our horses are looking for temporary or permanent foster homes where they will be provided the extra special care they need. Foster home care expenses may be provided by the Rescue or may be eligible to be tax-receipted or reimbursed. If you are interested in   fostering  please submit a completed foster application. We will then contact you to discuss the fostering program and arrange for you to visit.

Please note that foster horses are horses that require special care or are best as companion animals only. Resale or breeding of foster horses is strictly forbidden.

If you are unable to keep a horse of your own, please consider sponsoring one of our horses!  For a donation of $50/month, we will list you as the horse's sponsor and send you a certificate of your sponsor horse.

During the summer months, we love to see our horses spend time out on pasture. If you have some pasture in the Bergen, Water Valley, Bottrel, or Sundre area you are able to donate please contact us.  There's nothing like looking out your window and seeing beautiful horses grazing peacefully, and knowing that you are helping a great cause.

The Horses of Bear Valley Rescue

  • Any horse can be sponsored.

  • Horses for adoption tend to be sound and healthy and would make good riding prospects

  • Permanent resident horses are ones that we do not ever anticipate moving from the Rescue, due to old age or health or temperament issues.  They can be sponsored and, in special circumstances, fostered.
