Marilyn

Marilyn is a beautiful palomino mare.  We don't know her age exactly but she was probably born around 2010. She was unhandled but has now become friendly and has learned to be haltered.  Marilyn, along with her foal Liam and another mare and foal, came from a horse dealer.  The foals were being sold so that the mares could ship to slaughter.  In this case we were able to get the mares and foals before that happened.  Marilyn had a large sarcoid growth on her vulva.   It was always bloody and must have been quite uncomfortable.  Once she was halterbroke we had our vet treat it, first by removing a large portion by tying it off and then by injecting Immunocidin to shrink it.  We had to do the injections several times, and since Marilyn didn't sedate well at all, becoming quite upset as she was waking up, our vet did a double dose the last time.  Thankfully the growth has shrunk and is now completely gone!
