Cider

Cider is a big, solid, Quarter Horse/Paint cross bay roan gelding born in 2006.  We originally purchased him from a feedlot as a weanling in early 2007.  He was one of a herd of mares and foals from Saskatchewan that were going to slaughter.  Cider was adopted out as a weanling in 2007 and was surrendered back to the Rescue in October, 2015.  We were told that he was sent out for training at 4 or 5 and that he was saddled and ridden and even worked some cattle but that he started bucking at some point.  For the last 2 years before he came back to us he was pretty well left to run wild and was not handled at all.  He is now quite fearful and doesn't want to be caught, though once haltered and on a lead he is quite respectful. ​
